AERO Asia 2025: Essential International Hub for General Aviation And Low-altitude Expansion

The second edition of AERO Asia concluded in Zhuhai with significant increases in exhibitors, international participation, and aircraft sales, underscoring China’s expanding role in the global general aviation and low-altitude economy sectors.

The second edition of AERO Asia concluded successfully on 30 November 2025 at the Zhuhai International Airshow Center in China, recording marked increases in exhibitors, visitors, and aircraft sales.

To facilitate global business, this year’s fair integrated the exhibition with airshows, conferences, competitions, and fringe events. It brought together new advancements from the global general aviation and low-altitude economy sectors, ranging from parts and components to full-scale aircraft, eVTOLs, and UAVs, creating new opportunities for professional visitors and memorable experiences for future consumers.

The four-day fair featured 387 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions, representing a 44% increase in scale and a 29% rise in international participation. A total of 174 static and dynamic aircraft were displayed both indoors and outdoors across an exhibition area of approximately 60,000 sqm. With 837 aircraft of various models sold — some 250% higher than AERO Asia’s debut edition in 2023 — the total transaction value exceeded RMB 7 billion (nearly USD1 billion). Overall, the show attracted 80,153 visits, a 17.6% increase, with the first two days exclusive to business visitors and the final two days also open to the public, aimed at inspiring the next generation of aviation enthusiasts.

AERO Asia 2025 welcomed 75 international exhibitors from countries including Australia, Belgium, Ireland, Malaysia, Malta, Türkiye, and the UK, and featured globally renowned companies such as AutoGyro (Germany), Bell Helicopter (USA), DUC Hélices (France), and Pilatus (Switzerland). Meanwhile, pavilions from Canada and Korea collectively showcased the latest trends and innovations in their general aviation sectors.

Wendy Wen, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented: “The deals already confirmed are just the beginning – connections have been made at AERO Asia 2025 that will lead to more commerce and innovation in the months and years to come. For Messe Frankfurt to enter general aviation so successfully is an outstanding achievement, and a testament to the strong backing this show has received by government organisations, our partners at Zhuhai Airshow Group, and the many global industry players who have bet on the limitless potential of this sector and this platform.”

Chairman and General Manager of Zhuhai Airshow Group Co Ltd, Ms Cheng Min, added: “We are delighted to cooperate with Messe Frankfurt to co-organise AERO Asia 2025, which has strengthened our ‘dual show’ framework of Airshow China in even years and AERO Asia in odd years. Drawing on mutual strengths, we ensured this show’s resounding success – giving a strong boost to the quality development of the aviation industry and low-altitude economy in Zhuhai and the Greater Bay Area. AERO Asia 2025 attracted 40 authoritative industry organisations, media outlets and associations from home and abroad as supporting organisations, allowing for a comprehensive exhibition platform integrated with conferences, competitions, and activities.”

While China has taken an early lead in developing and potentially utilising vertical take-off and landing aircraft, innovators in other countries are also making strides to implement the technology. In service of this international facilitation at the show, Messe Frankfurt and NexAvian from Singapore not only co-organised a panel discussing advanced air mobility (AAM) evolution across APAC, but also signed an MOU detailing the two parties’ intentions to increase collaboration with each other and regional partners ahead of AERO Asia 2027. Through this partnership, the show is positioned as a pivotal player within the AAM and LAE ecosystem, fostering engagement throughout the Greater Bay Area, Asia and beyond.

Beyond the booths and 174 aircraft displays, the fringe programme encompassed 98 conferences, forums, project signing ceremonies, competitions, and flying demonstrations. These included the 2025 Asia Low-Altitude Economy Development Conference, the 2025 GABA Safety International Symposium, the AI-Enabled Low-Altitude Security Technology Development Forum, the Sustainable Aviation Forum, and the General Aviation Propulsion Industry Forum. Featured competitions included the 11th China Graduate Future Flight Vehicle Innovation Competition, the 14th China Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition – Professional Track for Low-Altitude Economy Award Ceremony, and the Zhuhai International Indoor Aero Show.

AERO Asia 2025 is the only international general aviation fair approved by the Ministry of Commerce. The fair is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and Zhuhai Airshow Group Co Ltd, and hosted by Messe Frankfurt (Zhuhai) Airshow Co Ltd. As a key event of the AERO brand, AERO Asia stands alongside other leading general aviation exhibitions, including AERO Friedrichshafen in Germany and AERO South Africa.
